Check out our New Lunch,  Dinner  and Sunday Brunch menu!  Under new ownership since February 2013, we’ll be open year round Monday through Saturday for Lunch 11am-5pm,  Dinner 5pm to 10pm and for Sunday Brunch/Lunch 11am to 5pm.  Now Open for Sunday Dinner 5pm-9pm!

For parties of 6 or more, please call 843.838.9300 for reservations  and walk ins always welcome.  Dining available inside and also outside on our deck to enjoy Lowcountry’s gorgeous sunset views on the marsh.  Family friendly!  Please bring your family and friends!

      I agree, the shrimp basket was fantastic! Great house-made chips to go along with the perfectly seasoned shrimp. I rarely eat fried food but I just had to make an exception and I’m glad I did!

    The best food. We were visiying Fripp Island and came upon The Foolish Frog. We ended up there 3 nights. Everything we ate was wonderful. I couldn’t get enough mussels and my husband loved the crab cakes. Excellant restaurant.

    We just had a fabulous dinner at Foolish Frog. Atmosphere perfect and Colin (bartender) made the best Mai Tai’s ever. This is a place to go everyday. Going to miss this place when we head home.

    Absolutely wonderful! Just returned from two weeks at Fripp. By chance visited the Foolish Frog early in our stay. Needless to say, we returned, several times during our stay, along with everyone else in our group. A true gem in the Low Country!

    We will definitely be back! The fried pickles were the best we’ve ever had, and waitress Grace was so friendly and helpful. My husband said that the Frogmore Burger was the best burger in South Carolina! Absolutely delicious!

    everything was top notch.
    I highly recommend everyone try the fired okra with the trinidad dipping sauce..Oh My Goodness is is fabulous..

    Thank you for a wonderful experience. I loved the low country blues band on the back deck. Makes me want to come back every weekend to sample more scrumptious food that your establishment offers. I hope to sample your fall season menu. Keep up the yummy menu and live music. I will Be Back!

    Loved the fresh seafood we ate over the weekend. The oysters were so fresh and slid down my throat with ease. Clams were steamed & yummy too. My entre, scallops were huge and cooked perfectly with fresh herbs and came with an assortment of savory vegetables on the side. I liked the meal so much, I came back the following night! Wait staff and bartenders really knew the menu and wine list. So glad Foolish Frog is on the map. I shall return!

    The Fried Flounder I had last week could have very well been the best I’ve ever had!!! and I fry ah damn good one myself….Love you guy’s…and thanks for letting me bring my dog Mr.Tonto on the deck for the fabulous entertainment!! service from the bar was outstanding…..

    The best barbecue sauce I have ever tasted. They called it “Carolina BBQ” style. I would give anything to buy some for here in florida. Had the pulled chicken sandwich. Excellent lunch.

  14. Tina and I ate there the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Picked the place out while driving down the road, based completely on the name of the restaurant. Patty came over and sat with us and provided information about the area. We had a great time at dinner! The best part of our story is… On this trip we ate in Charleston, Savannah, and Beaufort. The Foolish Frog was the best of ALL!

    We ate there twice on December 7 while spending the weekend at Harbor Island. Everything we had was great, from the Greek Salad to the Pork Belly and Seafood Pot with the crab legs. We will return!

    My son is planning to get married August 23 2014 there at St. Helena. I am looking for somewhere to have the rehearsal dinner on August 22, 2014. There will be about 25 to 30 guest. Can your restaurant accommodate this many and what types of menu’s can be served. Thank you. Shelia Thompson

    Sunday brunch was delicious. Dave was fun and accommodating. My wife’s philly steak omelet was very good (I sampled), my bleu cheese burger was delicious, and my son and his girlfriend loved their food, as well (although Rachel was overwhelmed by the size of her salad). Monday afternoon was also great. The Foolish Frog is habit forming. A peaceful view of the marsh, delicious food, a bartender who doesn’t mind keeping you up on the score, drinks that just right, a relaxing atmosphere, and the right staff…you would be “foolish” not to come here at LEAST twice each visit to St. Helena Island.

    Can you ship orders of the cracked okra. The best ever! Enjoyed dinner there a few weeks ago and just wish I lived closer so we could come more often. Do you share your secret recipe for the Cracked Orka, the description on the check). It was delicious.

  20. We drove down to St. Helena last week while visiting Hilton Head and ate lunch at the Foolish Frog. What a superb lunch it was ! I had the scallop basket and it melted in your mouth! My husband and I shared a seafood chowder that was the best we have ever had and he had a fish basket that he loved as well! Our waiter was very good and really a nice young man that was there at our “beck and call”! We ate out on the deck on a beautiful day and we so enjoyed eating and being there we will be going back when we are in Hilton head again in the spring! Loved it and SO worth the trip…Very Good food!

    We had dinner last night I had filet and my husband had the sirloin special.The steamed were the best we have eaten anywhere. Tender and the seasoning was AWSOME, We give this restaurant a 10. .we have eaten here a few times and the food has always been prepared very nicely.

    My mom and I stopped there for lunch from Charleston to see the lighthouse. Just have to say “The Best Reuben I have had” great atmosphere and loved the decor. Everyone was so nice, give it 100 stars.

    All I can say is the prices are awesome, the amount of food they give you is awesomeness, the Reuben sandwhich “Best I ever had” You earn 100 stars of awesomeness.

    I was on the island to deliver a vehicle and needed a place to eat. Their sign caught my eye. They were fairly busy inside so I chose to eat outside and listen to live music. I had a young waitor who was very pleasant, fast and couldn’t have done a better job to be frank. My food came out fast and was amazing, it tasted fantastic (it was the Gabby Crabby). I thought to myself…their prices are pretty reasonable and the portions of food were just right.

    I am from Charleston and expect a very high level of service. My experience at the Foolish Frog was flawless, I would highly recommend them.

    Amber is the greatest, after a full day of work and just shy of a 5 hour drive I had a craving for the Frog’s pickle chips
    I got there after food service had stopped, Amber told me to to try the Sunday Brunch…and you guessed it…late again.
    After a big hug she asked how were the pickles? Having to confessed I missed them again, she looked at me in shock and said she can make things happen…10 minutes I was enjoying the appetizer I’d been craving along with a ahi BLT…food and service is what other restaurants should strive for !!!

    So good! We live in the Georgia Coast, so we know seafood! The peel and eat shrimp were phenomenal!! We had the special of swordfish tacos and loved it! Great restaurant!

    We sampled the fish tacos, cracked okra, and the shrimp & crawfish yum yum ya ya and thoroughly enjoyed them all. This place is definitely on our short list of eating spots.

    Our family, all residents from PA, were in the area for graduation at Parris Island and looking for a unique SC dining experience. We found it at The Foolish Frog 🐸. The food was delicious. I loved the crab cakes with key lime tartar sauce. The pasta dish with shrimp and alligator was delicious. The fried pickles were delicious, and the premise made desserts were too die for. The drinks were top notch, and our waitress Amber was fantastic. If you are looking for something outstanding … enjoy a meal at The Foolish Frog 🐸.

    Dinner was fantastic, cracked okra lived up to its reputation, but the real draw is the excellent service. All staff were friendly, but my server, Hayden, was exceptional. Hang on to him!!

  34. Passed this little place looking for a photo op of the sunset and turned around and so glad I did! Awesome atmosphere, great live music, laid back, beautiful scenery. The Crab 🦀Cakes were to die for! Wait staff was friendly and amazing and they ensured not only great service but a great time. I can’t say enough about this place. I will definitely return and recommend! Thank you FF 🐸
