Will McLenagan, Executive Chef/Co-Owner and General Manager, Mark Buskirk looks forward to having everyone come in and try our exciting new menu items and specialty cocktails.

Open year round, Monday through Saturday,  11am – 5pm for lunch, 5pm – 10pm for dinner and Sunday for Brunch 11am – 5pm and now open for dinner 5pm -9pm.  The deck is set up for outside dining to enjoy the gorgeous marsh views and sunsets.

Chef Will specializes in preparing fresh seafood including his famed Maryland style crab cakes (no fillers here!), fire grilled steaks cooked to perfection, smokin, finger licking good ribs, yardbirds, pasta, salads and a huge selection of appetizers.

Start out with the Premium Lady’s Island Cultured Oysters on the half shell (seasonal), Little Neck Beaufort Clams, PEI Mussels Classic sauteed in garlic butter and wine or Beaufort Peel and Eat Swimps.

Finish with Key Lime Pie, Southern Pecan Pie, creme brûlée  or to die for Peanut Butter Pie! Ask your server about our daily homemade dessert selections.

Live Entertainment Wednesday through Sunday on the deck!

Visit the historic sites of Saint Helena Island, like Penn Center (the site of one of the country’s first schools for freed slaves and one of the most significant African American historical and cultural institutions in existence today), The Red Piano Too folk art gallery, What’s in Store Gallery or Hunting Island State Park.  Located 7 minutes from historic downtown Beaufort.

Come and see the work original owners Beekman Webb, and Bob Roderer did in revitalizing the historic Frogmore Post Office into Beaufort County’s first “Gone Green” restaurant…The Foolish Frog, named after the first song Webb learned to play from his grandfather, at the age of 5. Webb plays fiddle, banjo, guitar, and mandolin (in the Beekman Webb Band).

    Just had dinner here and we wish we would have come earlier in the week. We leave for pa tomorrow and wish we had a foolish frog in our area. I had the fried pickles and the salmon…hubby had calamari and ribs and I can sum it up in one word: FANTASTIC. huge compliments to the chef. Thank You for a fabulous meal.

    As residents and native South Carolinians, we’ve enjoyed the benefits of access to fresh seafood for many years. When the Foolish Frog first opened, we had dinner there and while I enjoyed the scenery, service and ambiance, frankly I was not impressed with the food. However, when Chef Will became involved as a co-owner, it was a new day! Everything on their menu is off the chart! Forgive the use of all-caps, but this chef is AMAZING! His subtle seasonings combined with fresh-daily seafood, and a kitchen that is clearly run like a well-timed symphony orchestra, will draw you back again and again. I’ve often thought the tell-tale barometer of a great restaurant is the lack of empty spaces in the parking lot! There is nothing FOOLISH about the fare at F.F… This is seriously wonderful dining!

      I understand the Chef is a retired Marine (can’t say “former” Marine because, once a Marine, always a Marine…but that explains the “well timed symphony orchestra”…
      We’re new to Beauford but we’re anxious to go to TFF…heard it’s A#1

    Had take out from Foolish Frog last weekend while visiting for the weekend. So glad we tried a new place. So great, loved the Salmon. Can I order a t-shirt for a friend who loves frogs?? So nice to have a new place. Tired of same old. We’ll be back for sure.

    There is something to be said about fresh food. I think people are generally screaming for non processed and farm to table policy like seen here. Keep up the great work, it is all uphill from here.

    Hi, Chef/Co-Owner Will and everybody else at the Foolish Frog.

    We live on the NC/SC state line just outside Chesnee SC and have visited Beaufort twice and your restaurant at least four times.Â

    IT IS EXCELLENT! Pleasant atmosphere, great servers, an excellent onsite manager, and–best of all–some of the most wonderful food we’ve ever eaten.

    If we end up moving to Beaufort, one of the main reasons will be that we’d be able to go to The Foolish Frog whenever we wanted to. Thanks you so much for doing such a wonderful job–all of you!
